Listen to "Trafficking Survivor on Men, Respect and the Cornell 7 Case - Sarah Westall" on Spreaker.
An anonymous journalist whose writing can come across as that of a “man-hating feminist” joins the program for an open conversation about men, women, respect and the Cornell 7 case. She shares her background as a human trafficking survivor, a bullied teenager and someone who says she has endured years of abuse from men. We explore how those experiences shaped her view of men, how she learned to protect herself and how her perspective has evolved. What emerges is less about disliking men and more about empowering everyone to demand respect while extending that same respect to others, male or female. We discuss how social media and current cultural norms deepen division, encourage cruelty and make it harder for people to connect. We also ask what each of us can do to make the world more civil and respectful. It’s a candid conversation about looking beyond labels, understanding the experiences behind someone’s opinions and finding common ground.Sign up for the Newsletter and see exclusives now located at WestallMedia.com or still at SarahWestall.substack.com
